		<description><![CDATA[<p>The <a href="http://www.utexas.edu/law/centers/capitalpunishment/">Capital Punishment Center</a> will be hosting a conference on March 22 &#38; 23 on the topic of &#8220;Mass Incarceration and the Death Penalty.&#8221;  The conference will take place in the <a href="http://www.utexas.edu/law/about/maps/">Eidman Courtroom</a>, <a href="http://www.utexas.edu/maps/main/buildings/ccj.html">CCJ 2.306</a>, at <a href="http://www.utexas.edu/law/">The University of Texas School of Law</a>.  The conference will include a keynote and several panels featuring leading scholars in the field.  More information on the conference and registration is available at the Capital Punishment Center&#8217;s <a href="https://www.utexas.edu/law/centers/capitalpunishment/incarceration.html">website</a>.</p>

<p>The Federalist Society is hosting a &#8220;Cops and Criminals&#8221; event Tuesday, November 13th at 12pm.  The event is non-partisan, and features Jack Kress, who performed the studies that led to the Sentencing Reform Act of 1984.  His event will also feature a firearm simulation exercise that replicates portions of training that NYC PD officers undergo, and helps the audience to understand the dilemma police officers face when they confront situations in <br /><a class="moretag" href="http://ajclonline.org/?p=113"> >> Read more</a>]]></description>
